Having learned via the East Yorkshire peripatetic music system in the 1980’s, Rachel Robson feels incredibly lucky to enjoy a varied freelance career in London. Since 2000, she has worked with ensembles including London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, London Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, City of London Sinfonia, English National Opera and The Philharmonia.

Rachel has recorded with artists including Stevie Wonder, Kylie, Little Simz, London Grammar, Florence and The Machine, Take That, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, Placebo, Sam Smith, Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler.

Rachel also enjoys playing in the West End, and has appeared in the pits of Hello Dolly, Sunset Boulevard, Follies, Hamilton, Les Mis, Caroline or Change, Cinderella, Dear Evan Hansen, Spring Awakening, Phantom and Guys & Dolls.

Rachel lives in north London with her young family and cat, where she enjoys eating vegetables, being outside, reading lots of books and drinking coffee with friends. In September 2023, she qualified as a Nutritional Therapist; she hopes to specialise in mental health, practising alongside making music.
